An excellent starting point to visit the Mont-des-Arts in Brussels
Excellent starting point to visit the Mont-des-Arts: Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Musical Instruments, BELvue Museum. The famous burned down Coudenberg Palace stood on this square until its destruction. In the center of the square stood initially the statue of the sovereign builder, Charles of Lorraine. But the statue having been destroyed during the French Revolution, Godefroy de Bouillon, on his way to the first Crusade, succeeded him in 1848, at a time when the young Belgium was in search of patriotic landmarks.

Bâtiment très beau, en haut du Mont des Arts. Une vue sublime. Dommage qu'il y avait des travaux juste devant la place, ce qui a gâché un peu la vue...

L’architecture y est remarquable, au centre la statue de Godefroid de bouillon. Plusieurs musées autour: celui des Beaux-Arts des instruments de musique etc.
