This large Sunni mosque, with the beautiful Arab architecture, is the centre of Kenyan Islam, which has about 4 million faithful, or 10% of the population. It has a dramatic look and lively surroundings with its adjacent shops and stands. In general, non-Muslims are not allowed. Nevertheless, the outside is worth a detour. The City Market is next door.
