Mannerist-style church for slaves, the center of an interesting syncretic celebration in November

Built in 1725, the Church of the Rosary was intended for the slaves who built it. Mannerist in style, it is the center of an interesting syncretic celebration. This Festa dos Santos (Festival of Saints) takes place in November in honor of São Benedito, the saint of slaves celebrated in Paraty since the ^18th century. During the 10-day festival, processions and celebrations of the black saints take place, as well as the designation of the black king and queen.
