Citadel founded by the Venetians with a view of Nafplio, the gulf and Acronauplio.

Built by the Venetians at the beginning of the 18th century, it represents the last success in the history of Venetian domination. The eight bastions were built in three years and completed in 1714. The fortress was accessed by a vaulted road, quickly replaced by a 999-step staircase. Today, those who have the courage to climb (216 m... also accessible by road) will enjoy a breathtaking view of Nafplion, the Gulf and its beaches and Acronauplie. Those who take a look inside will not be disappointed either.

La montée des marches est difficile (le mieux c'est le matin car il y a de l'ombre). La vue le long de la montée et depuis la citadelle, est magnifique

Cela vaut vraiment le coup de monter jusqu'en haut de cette citadelle car la vue sur la ville et la mer y est superbe.

A very nice visit. With a magnificent view of the city of Nauplie and the sea. You must take a full tour to admire the different views. You can access it on foot or by car.

Located is a very pretty little town on the seafront. It is overlooked by the Palamede citadel and when it high shows all it, it is really go up to it. I had a little to climb but views along the way. On arrival with destination it is a pleasure to visit the remains of the citadel.
(a small precision, the descent is difficult as the climb).
