Museum displaying all kinds of objects from the Cape.
This small museum is housed in a house where several Malay families descended from freed slaves who were oppressed under apartheid. An exhibition of all kinds of period objects gives a good insight into the life and culture of the Muslim community in the 19th century between the slave period and apartheid. An exhibition depicts the daily life of these families in the 20th century through expressive portraits and lively street scenes. The pressure of the apartheid laws on the evolution of the community can be felt in the background.
