The oldest private history museum in Quebec that presents historical exhibits, notably on Hochelaga.
The Château Ramezay Museum is the first building to be classified as a historic monument and the oldest private history museum in Quebec. It presents exhibitions of a historical nature, notably Hochelaga, Ville-Marie, Montréal, which relates the history of Montréal, Québec and Canada through various period objects, from Amerindian prehistory to the 20th century. Another exhibition will take you back to daily life in 18th-century Montréal. Don't leave without visiting the magnificent Jardin du Gouverneur.

We really enjoyed this museum! There were many nice paintings, antique furniture, historical displays and artifacts. The formal rooms and kitchen downstairs were very interesting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The museum is located in Old Montreal near some lovely streets to take a stroll afterwards. I recommend visiting Chateau Ramezay! We had a great time
