PARC DE LA CHUTE-MONTMORENCY
She is one of the great stars of the Quebec City region, with her impressive fall reaching a height of 83 metres.
Although not as wide as Niagara Falls, the drop is about 30 metres higher. The site has been developed to provide visitors with spectacular views (cable car, scenic staircase, suspension bridge, lookouts, walking trails and picnic areas). The waterfall is even more spectacular in winter when it is frozen and the "sugar loaf", a huge cone of ice formed by the crystallization of water vapour in suspension, is created: the latter is in itself a curiosity that always attracts many people. Overlooking the waterfall, the Manoir Montmorency, an elegant villa rebuilt as it was in the 18th century, houses an interpretation centre devoted to the history of the site, a restaurant-terrace and a souvenir shop.
Access: The park is located 12 km east of Old Quebec. Access to the upper part is via Royale Avenue (Route 360 - reception for the manor, the via ferrata and the zip line) and to the lower part via Sainte-Anne Boulevard (Route 138 - main reception of the station).
On-site services: terrace restaurant (Sunday brunch at certain times), sandwich shop (located at the station), food truck, snack bar, dairy bar, picnic lunch box service, boutiques, guided tours of the site and guided activities in season, outdoor activities (cycling, three via ferrata courses, zip line, ice climbing, snowshoeing, etc.) and programming of special activities and events.
