The Coburg Samba Festival is the largest samba festival outside of Brazil, with over 200,000 visitors per year.

At first rather a spontaneous idea, this event started with only a few thousand visitors. Today, it is the largest samba festival outside Brazil, with about 3,000 sambists and 200,000 visitors. Music, dance, joie de vivre! For a weekend, the beautiful Franconian city is transformed into a small Rio. On Saturday evening, the entire city centre is set to the rhythm of the samba and on Sunday there is a large and equally popular parade.
