The only baronnie existing in Norway was founded in 1671 by Ludvig Shown. The main building, the Rosendal Castle is Renaissance style with baroque finishes. The large garden and its rose garden have a special microclimate. The site itself is exceptional, with its picturesque villages and snow capped tops overlooking the quiet and quiet fjord. Throughout the summer, classical concerts and temporary exhibitions take place in the yellow lounge (not to miss the original paintings in the red lounge). You can watch the pastries in the old kitchen and enjoy them in the winter garden tea lounge.
