KHOWARIB REST CAMP
This camp corresponds to a former protection camp for black rhino by camel patrouille. From the main runway, a sign indicates the camping towards the east by following the gorges of the river Khowarib. Tent and tent locations are available for a few dozen kilograms per person (with toilets and showers). The camp only proposes what we really need: water, a shelter and a sun with a light cast from the end of the afternoon (the reflections of light in the throat are worth displacement alone). It is therefore better to have the necessary arrangements for the duration of the stay. Spectacular views of Khowarib sclucht (gorge) and Hoanib river.
Proposed activities. Guided tours, visit of the traditional village of Anmire, excursions along the Hoanib River, bird observations and reservation, a camel-back hike to observe black (Save the Rhino Camel Patrol) rhino of half an hour to several days (to be reserved with Wildlife Scouts Namibia, P.O. BOX 40105, Windhoek Tel (061) 234 902 - Fax: (061) 230 116 - [email protected]).
