SHIPWRECK BEACH

The dream beach by definition: turquoise water, white sand and rolling lava rocks, a boat wreck on the horizon…
Everything is there! With one difference: you can't swim! The currents of the Kalohi Channel linking Molokai to Lanai are very dangerous indeed. This is why the beach bears the promise of «Shipwreck beach» (beach of the shipwreck)! Since the th century, the ships that sank in these waters have been counted. Ironically, the rusty boat of the American Navy, seen from shore, failed there during World War II as a result of a banal navigation error…
This beach is therefore a place of sunbathing or walking.
From the beach parking, a little path leads to a huge rock adorned with petroglyphs representing silhouettes of men, probably warriors.
