MANELE BAY
Bordered by high cliffs, the result of the ancient volcanic activity, the beautiful bay of Manele is part of a marine reserve where it is forbidden to fish. It also houses the very frequented marina of Lanai, the Manele Harbor. This is where shuttles and tourist boats come from Maui, the return from the same port. Despite its crystalline waters, the heavy maritime traffic excludes swimming. Since the construction of the port of Kaumalapau (1926) which hosts commercial vessels, Manele Harbor has nevertheless désengorgé. On the practical side, the picnic area and on-site toilets make it possible to make a small stop, upon arrival on the island or before taking the boat of return.
