Every two years, hundreds of Khoisan gather in good spirits on a farm near D'kar in the Kalahari.
This major cultural festival has been held annually since 1997. It is held at Dqae Qare Game Farm, a farm run entirely by Bushmen, near D'Kar in the Kalahari. It brings together hundreds of Khoïsan from all over Botswana, and sometimes even from Namibia and South Africa. The festival lasts two to three days and consists of numerous dances, games and traditional meals. It is organized by the various Dan Trusts. Alcohol is generally banned because of the devastation it causes in these communities.
