CARNAVAL DE TOBAGO

It is at the time of the winter equinox, at the end of September, that Tobago starts its own carnival, outside the usual dates for this festival. It is a kind of training for the Trinidad & Tobago carnival which takes place in February, as everywhere else in the world. The Tobago carnival is the occasion of masked parades as well as parties marking the beginning of the preparation season of the real carnival. It culminates in its own J'Ouvert followed by 24 hours of parades and concerts in the purest carnival tradition.
