FÊTE DU TERE À RURUTU
Go there and contact
On January, the whole population goes on a tour of the island with visits to the houses and marae.
Village by village, the population goes around the houses to ensure the good health and smooth running of everyone's life. Visitors are greeted with music and in each house, repainted for the occasion, the hosts have previously prepared food and drinks. Various association competitions are held for the occasion (fruit carrier race, stone lifting, etc.). In the evening, each village organizes a free meal for all. A week later, convoys of decorated cars circle the island over three days for the General Land.
