It's the biggest party of the year. The town is decorated, families and friends get together and exchange lai see.

Chinese New Year in Hong Kong is the biggest holiday of the year. It's the equivalent of Christmas in Europe. The festivities last several days, and streets, shopping malls and buildings are decorated to highlight the sign of the year: the snake in 2025 and the horse in 2026. The Tsim Sha Tsui promenade is ideal for admiring the fireworks. Temples such as Wong Tai Sin attract crowds who come to pray for good luck and prosperity. Traditionally, people exchange lai see, red envelopes containing money.
