WESAK (BUDDHA'S BIRTHDAY)
Go there and contact
The anniversary of Buddha's birth is celebrated with great pomp and ceremony in Buddhist temples across the country.
The Buddhist community celebrates the anniversary of Buddha's birth, his enlightenment and his entry into Nirvana. It is therefore a major festival for all Theravada Buddhists in Asia. The festival dates back only to 1950, and was introduced on the initiative of the King of Nepal, who made it a public holiday in his country. Visit a Buddhist temple to witness the ceremonies. Birds are released from their cages as a sign of respect for all living creatures.
