L.O.I.R.E.
The Loire is a department in the center of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, offering a wide variety of landscapes. It includes the Roannais bocages, the Forez plain, the Madeleine and Forez mountains, the Beaujolais and Lyonnais mountains, the Pilat massif and the Rhône valley. The Loire has 626 sensitive natural areas (ENS), some of which are open to the public. These areas enable visitors to discover rich and little-known natural environments, such as peat bogs and moors, and to observe the migration of exceptional birds like the red kite and stork. The sites are developed with the help of the Département de la Loire, and feature secure parking and access. Trails are signposted and regularly maintained for easy access by the general public.
