A place of culture, meeting and life, the Institut français de Mauritius is a brand new space, replacing the French Cultural Centre Charles Baudelaire (present in Mauritius for 40 years) and whose architecture focuses on volume, space and light. Inaugurated on May 11, 2010, in the presence of Jean Marie Le Clézio, Nobel Prize in Literature, the new premises house a huge library, CampusFrance, the Chambre de commerce France-Maurice, Baudelaire coffee (held by Patrice Dumont, a dear French extra!) and a vocational and professional training centre (offering, among other things, collective or tailor-made French courses). Activities and events are organised throughout the year: exhibitions, workshops, concerts, shows, projections, etc. Refer to the website for the course and course details.
