OXENHAM
Created 85 years ago, this well-known company in Mauritius was one of the very first to manufacture and market wine on the island - local production based on fruit maceration. Today, in addition to selling its own spirits (wines and spirits) and in order to offer consumers a wider choice, Oxenham is also a wine merchant under the brand name Le Connoisseur. The Grand Baie boutique sells wines from all over the world as well as champagne, whisky, liqueurs, fruit juices, chocolates and coffee. At the same time, Oxenham produces rum made from molasses, which is offered for sale under the brand name Bougainville and is divided into four Pure Single Rums - Gold, VSOP, VS and XO - and three flavoured rums - Citronella, Vanilla and Vieux Domaine (spicy rum). Aged in sherry, cognac and bourbon oak barrels, then in muscat barrels to develop exotic flavours, these rums are beginning to be sold for export, particularly in French cocktail bars. Just recently, the company also made the beer bet by launching The Thirsty Fox, a range of four artisanal beers: a Lager and three Ales - a blonde, an amber and a white one
