Te Matatini is a major cultural festival and THE flagship festival of māori arts, with its famous kapa haka competition (which we Europeans usually just call " haka ", but the haka is actually only one part of the kapa haka performance). Competitors come from all over New Zealand, and the competition is fierce!

It takes place every two years, each time in a different city. An excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in Māori culture and learn more about the meaning and value of the haka.
