Budget & Tips
There are many, many, many accommodation options on an island that derives most of its wealth from tourism: camping cabins, youth hostels, boutique hotels, luxury establishments, private villas... There is no lack of choice. As prices have a tendency to explode during the season, we strongly recommend that you book your accommodation well in advance of your departure, a few months if you can. You will have both the advantage of being able to choose your accommodation, but also that of obtaining acceptable rates.
Rural tourism. For those looking for peace and quiet, manyagroturismo (rural tourism) establishments have opened their doors. These are usually old fincas (traditional houses) that have been converted into small, usually luxury hotels. Often, these houses, located in the hinterland, offer 6 to 10 rooms and all the comfort of a 4 or 5 star hotel. The charm is there, but you have to pay the price!
Camping. Wild camping is forbidden and official campsites are few (half a dozen). There is no need to bring your caravan because of the prohibitive price of the boat passage. In motorhome, the island is welcoming from October to May. Outside this off-peak season, Ibiza is far too busy for the guardia civil to tolerate stops outside the campsite. In any case, you will have a hard time getting around and parking.
To be booked
In general, to be able to take advantage of good rates, it is more than advisable to book your accommodation well in advance for a stay in Ibiza, especially for the July-August period. During the rest of the year, you should find accommodation much more easily.
