The Sao Joao festivities light up the months of June and part of July in many cities of Northeast Brazil.

All over the country, but especially in the Nordeste, they celebrate St. Anthony (23), St. John (24), and St. Peter (29). Everyone loves these celebrations, which last throughout June and July. All the churches, schools, clubs and neighborhoods celebrate with the local community. The cities of the Nordeste are known for having the biggest parties with several forró groups. The biggest party takes place in Caruaru, in Pernambuco, throughout the month of June.
