Paul Marmottan bequeathed to the Académie des Beaux-Arts his private hotel of Muette (now known as the Marmottan Museum) and the Boulogne Museum decorated in the Empire style. In the library, books and decor are inseparable. The old décor remains in some parts: yellow columns, green walls and mahogany furniture, we are happy to take part in this (rich) amateur cabinet. An outdated charm that contrasts with the modernity of the infrastructure (auditorium, reading room, computerization of the catalogue).
