IGP CÔTEAUX DU PONT DU GARD
The Coteaux du Pont du Gard PGI extends from Petite Camargue to Pont-Saint-Esprit, an area whose heart is, of course, the famous Pont du Gard. The wines, produced in a hot and dry Mediterranean climate, are powerful, complex and elegant. The PGI, which was created in 2010, is currently very active in promoting and spreading the word.
Grenache, cinsault, carignan and syrah, cabernet-sauvignon, cabernet-franc and merlot make up the reds and rosés. The whites are made with chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, roussanne and marsanne.
Finally, it should be noted that these wines have more characteristics of Côtes-du-Rhône wines than Languedoc wines, given the similarity of the climate.
