What is the Accueil Vélo label?
It is a national mark guaranteeing a welcome and quality services for cyclists, along marked and secure cycle routes.
For the bicycle tourist, it is the guarantee of:
being less than 5 km from a marked and secure bicycle route, registered either in the regional or departmental plan,
having adapted equipment: secure bicycle shelter, repair kit, electric recharging system
..:
useful information and advice (routes, weather...),
to have services adapted to cyclists: luggage transfer
...This label gives a real added value to the destination in welcoming its visitors, more and more of whom are traveling in a "soft" way
.Gard Tourisme is the territorial coordinator and quality referent for the national bodies Tourisme & Territoire and France Vélo Tourisme. It is therefore the delegate of the mark.
Gard Tourisme, a satellite of the Gard Departmental Council, has thus entered into an agreement with each Tourist Office, to audit together the project leaders and strengthen the partnership with the territories.
The approach undertaken since January 2019 has already allowed, to label more than 94 service providers throughout the department, renters, repairers, accommodation providers, museums
...Making the Gard a bicycle destination is a major axis of the Departmental Council's tourism policy and a flagship action of the Departmental Scheme of Tourism, Leisure and Attractiveness. A bicycle plan is deployed to offer visitors and inhabitants the best conditions to practice this activity in the Gard.
The Accueil Vélo label has been deployed since 2018 and has registered 94 label holders. Gard Tourism has recorded a 66% increase in the number of Accueil Vélo label holders in 2020.
