Discover Pyrénées-Orientales : What to bring back ? (handicraft...)

Always the same question wherever we are: "What could we bring back as a souvenir of our stay?" Don't panic, here you have the choice! We will try to give you some hints so that you can find what you are looking for, according to your desires, your budget or your tastes, whether it is a little attention for your family, your friends or for your own pleasure. No matter where in the department you have stayed, there is a gastronomic or artisanal speciality that will make you fall in love with it. And if you really don't have any money left because you have spent it all, don't forget that the best memories will remain those you have lived here, made of friendly encounters in the middle of extraordinary landscapes or around good tables and a glass of wine. The images of the Catalan Country that you will take with you will remain in your heart forever, and that is priceless.

On the culinary side...

Sweet delicacies

For travel biscuits and cakes, rousquilles, croquants and other panellets are the ideal solution... if you do not eat them during your trip. Honeys will also make a nice gift or souvenir. Our territory is so diversified that the bees have the choice of flowers to gather. Chestnut tree honey, rhododendron honey, thyme honey, garrigue honey and many others..

and specialities

The anchovies of Collioure, with salt or oil are always appreciated. The only two anchovy processing companies in Collioure are Roque and Desclaux, and a visit to their workshops is a treat.
Cerdagne mustard, which grows wild in our mountains, will make you forget the mustards you already know.
Banyuls vinegar is acclaimed by the best tables in the world, and is eagerly sought after. Invite it to yours.
Olive oils, made from local varieties for artisanal oils. The olive tree, the most cultivated here, the curveil, the argoudeil, the verdale and the golry, all will give "pep" to your dishes.
Unavoidable, the mountain charcuterie would convert vegetarians. With these pigs raised in the wild, fed on acorns, apples and other plants, nothing but good and organic for sausages, pâtés (canned, easier to transport) and sausages.
Finally, let's not forget the cheeses. Cow, ewe or goat, the cheeses of our alpine pastures are examples of gourmet souvenirs, although they are more delicate to transport if you have to cross France.

To drink...

The wines. Take the sunshine with you in a bottle! Still red, white or rosé wines from our various appellations or our natural sweet wines that sommeliers all over the world are snatching up. Maury, Banyuls white, or red wines, real specificities of the department as well as Muscat de Rivesaltes.

The beer. You will find many artisanal breweries, one of which has been awarded "Best Beer in the World" and another "Best Belgian Beer in the World"! No, you're not dreaming, you read that right

And for small budgets

A real good tip, in Perpignan! On Rue Lazare Escarguel, behind the prefecture, there is the only souvenir shop whose products are made in Catalunya, the Visca shop with very low prices since some items are less than 1€.
