The border post of Lao Bao is located 85 km from the town of Dông Ha by the RN9. Count 2 hours by bus. The border with Laos (Dansavanh border crossing) is open. Possibility of obtaining a visa for Laos at the Lao Bao station. On the other hand, no visa is issued on the Vietnamese side. It must have been obtained at a diplomatic representation or through the E-visa procedure (see the Vietnamese Immigration Administration website).
