Tunnels built to house families after the village was destroyed by American bombing in June 1965.
In June 1965, the village of Vinh Môc was totally destroyed by American bombing. In order to survive, the inhabitants had to build a system of tunnels to shelter 82 families (300 people). The complex includes dozens of undergrounds on several levels excavated to an average depth of 7 m. They constituted a real city, with wells, a hospital (17 children were born in this maternity hospital), meeting rooms and compartments used as housing for families.
