In Moselle, you will find hilly landscapes in the heart of the Vosges regional nature park and plains dotted with small villages in the Messin region. Moselle is proud to share its history with you in many ways. On a land occupied since prehistoric times, there are many ways to take you back in time and appreciate
the ingenuity of our ancestors. From simple crafts to the industrial revolution, this destination is full of riches: master glassmakers, earthenware makers, clog makers and other artists proudly open their workshops to you to discover trades that are sometimes almost forgotten. Just like the miners: once thousands in Lorraine, the pits are now museums! And what about the military structures with the Maginot line, a real protective belt, that you can discover with your eyes and with your heart. The memory of the battles and the suffering of the men are easily imaginable in walls that still bear witness to their struggles. In Metz you can visit the Saint-Etienne cathedral, the Centre Pompidou-Metz or the Cour d'Or museum. Amnéville, on the other hand, is a superb little spa town where relaxation and entertainment are the key words! There is no shortage of baths where you can spend a day relaxing and loosening up any upset muscle. But the main attraction of this little town is its huge zoo. Think also of the Parc Astérix of Boulay-Moselle.
When to leave? From the end of March to the beginning of November, young and old alike will enjoy stunning rides and entertainment at Astérix Park in Boulay-Moselle. All year round, you can admire the superb Amnéville zoo with your family. For those who wish to do nothing, you can relax and have a massage while spending a relaxing moment at the Amnéville thermal baths. Lovers of opera, ballet or theatre, you can attend magnificent shows at the Opéra-Théâtre de Metz from September to June. For the curious little ones and treasure hunters, you can visit the Templar Chapel of Metz all year round, a suitable place to start hunting the Grail!
The climate of the Moselle is of a degraded oceanic nature mitigated by the influence of the continental climate coming from the east. It is characterized by temperatures that are both low in winter and high in summer. Indeed, the average winter temperature is around 1 °C and it climbs in summer to 23 °C.
