When it's noon in Paris, it's 11am in the Algarve all year round. In Portugal, as in the rest of Europe, the changeover to summer time takes place on the last Sunday in March and the changeover to winter time on the last Sunday in October.

Museum opening times vary according to the city and the tourist season. In general, they close on Mondays and open on other days between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., with a break for lunch. Admission is usually free for students, and there are also special prices for children and senior citizens.

Enjoying yourself Algarve

Generally speaking, mealtimes are quite similar to those in France. Lunch(almoço) is between 12 and 3pm and dinner(jantar) between 7:30 and 9:30pm, sometimes even 11pm in tourist towns.

Shopping centers, such as the Mall de Loulé, are open every day of the week, including Sundays, from 10am to 10pm without interruption. Good to know: Wifi access is free.
