This destination has invaluable heritage resources. First of all, there are the cities and their sensational spaces, with winter and summer sports. Gérardmer, for example, offers 40 kilometres of trails amidst fir trees, boat and sail trips, or diving courses in its magnificent lake surrounded by the Vosges mountains. This city is also known for its casinos and especially for its famous international fantastic film festival. When winter comes to an end, La Bresse is one of these ski resorts, located in the heart of the Ballons des Vosges regional natural park. This resort offers 42 ski slopes on 220 hectares in the middle of lakes, mountain ridges and forests. You can enjoy all types of slopes, with your family, as a couple or alone, before leaving very easily for other pleasures, such as a hike on the Pierre d'Appel circuit or on the Haute Pierre circuit. Finally, there is the thermalism, to relax, to relax and to rest with thermal resorts like Contrexéville, Vittel, Bains-les-Bains, or Plombières-les-Bains.
When to go to the Vosges ? Summer and winter, you can enjoy the Vosges! In winter with downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, sledging, snowshoeing, and in summer with hiking, mountain biking, paragliding. Or simply all year round in the spa for total relaxation and rest. Not forgetting, at the end of January-beginning of February, the Gérardmer Fantastic Film Festival, a five-day festival to feast your eyes on: numerous international films shown in four theaters, and an art festival: comics, literature, painting, video, short films.
The Vosges climate is oceanic for the frequency of its precipitations, semi-continental when it comes to the very important annual thermal difference, and mountainous, for obvious reasons of relief. Winters are long and harsh. Summers are hot and sometimes stormy. Spring and autumn are often quite beautiful.
