When to go Ariège ?

Here's a selection of just a few of the many must-see events (particularly in summer). A difficult choice had to be made, and a balance struck between culture, tradition, events and gastronomy. It's worth noting that, like bears, Ariège hibernates in the dead of winter. In January and February, the "snow spreads its white mantle" - it's ski season! Fortunately, a number of events fill the winter months.

The climate of the Ariège is rather oceanic but with Mediterranean and continental influences in the valleys. In Ariège, it rains regularly all year round with a peak in May. Temperatures are generally mild from mid-May to late mid-October. The coldest month is February. In both summer and winter, the temperature declines rapidly with altitude. Temperatures drop at night, summer and winter, especially in the mountains.
