When to go Aveyron ?
Summer in Aveyron is the high tourist season. All the establishments are open, the campsites are crowded even in the northernmost territories and the cultural events and village festivals follow one another. Spring, however, is also beautiful, with the pastures in bloom, which lend themselves to endless walks. In winter, you must see the Aubrac, its mountains covered with snow, even if the snowflakes are less frequent than in the past.
Aveyron is divided into three climatic zones which correspond to three different geographical areas. In the west, hills interspersed with deep valleys enjoy a fairly mild oceanic climate. To the north and north-east, the Aubrac has a rather harsh mountain climate. In the south, the high limestone plateaus of the Causses benefit from a Mediterranean climate, but nevertheless rather harsh, with very cold winters and very dry summers.
