The public body "Olympic Winter Games 1984" (Zimskih olimpijskih igara 1984, ZOI 84) is responsible for the Bjelašnica-Igman Olympic Complex. He is responsible for the sale of packages, snowguns, the operation of the ski lifts, the organization of the station relief. But that is not all. It also manages the legacy of the 1984 Olympics, the promotion of stations abroad or the city's application for new Winter Games. Anyway, ZOI 84 has a lot of work to do, and everything doesn't necessarily slip like ice skates. This municipal structure inherited from the Communist period was created on the day of the closing ceremony of the 1984 Games. Since then, she has struggled to adapt. Especially since it has mainly had to deal with installations destroyed by the war, while those at the Jahorina station in the Serbian Republic of Bosnia are now no longer within its competence. But the organization won a great victory by obtaining the IOC's «mini-JO» organization, the Olympic Festival of the European Youth Winter Games 2019 (www.eyof.org/fr/sarajevo-hiver-2019). For that, she worked hand in hand with the station of Johorina. In a country where nothing works politically, it is a real achievement.

The Bjelašnica-Igman ski area

The Olympic ski resorts of Mount Bjelašnica (Babin Do) and Mount Igman (Veliko and Malo Polje) are very close. The 3 stations are managed by ZOI 84 and form the "Bjelašnica Olympic Complex".

Bjelašnica-Babin Do - The area starts at 1,270 m above sea level and rises to 2,000 m and has the highest slopes of all the country's resorts. From the top of the slopes, located just below Bjelašnica (2 067 m), leave the 2 plots used in 1984 for alpine skiing competitions: the first common section is a black runway (the only one in the field), and then, you go through the middle of the field to follow the path of the "descent" red (almost down) or take the right to take the route of the slalom and giant slalom (red then blue on half). In all, with the other non-Olympic parties, including a snow park reserved for free riders, the domain totals more than 10 km of tracks, mostly red. It is still quite rudimentary with a 3 seat lift, another 2 seats and 3 bucks. A 750 m long trail is lit for night skiing. Snow is generally good (135 cm on average) and the station recently has a few snow cannons.

Igman-Veliko Polje (cross-country skiing) - Located 5.4 km southeast of Babin Do towards Hadžići, the former Olympic cross-country skiing competition, biathlon and Nordic combined, includes 30 km of cross-country ski runs at 1,150 m high.

Igman-Malo Polje (runway skiing) - At 1,147 m altitude, 3 km after Veliko polje towards Hadžići, the former Olympic ski jumping site has become a small ski resort with 3 mini-pistes of 100 m long for beginners and 3 small shoots meet with a 2-seat lift at 1,490 m high and give access to a 1,600 m long blue and red runway with a small side corridor of 200 m classified black.
