This festival is held in Dungarpur, a small town in southern Rajasthan, located between Udaipur and the Gujarat border. Many Hindus of the Bihls tribe gather for 5 days to celebrate Shiva. Baneshwar is the name given to the shiva linga of Dungarpur temple. In Vagdi dialect, it means "the master of the delta". The celebrations take place at the confluence of the Mahi and Som rivers. A colorful crowd from the region, but also from Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, indulges in ritual baths and worships their idols.
