Ajmer is the best place to celebrate the Eid festival which marks the end of Ramadan and to taste the iftar specialties.

The festival of Eid marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month. It is celebrated all over India with pomp and circumstance. Muslims decorate the front of their houses with green garlands and flags, the color of Islam. As this is the last break of the fast, families gather together for a king's feast. Women have been cooking all day to prepare traditional dishes like bhuna gosht, a mutton dish simmered with spices and served with yogurt, coconut milk, almonds and saffron.
