CHEMREY (OR THEKCHOK) MONASTERY
Go there and contact
18th-century monastery with blue frescoes depicting protective deities and those with a thousand Buddhas.
This monastery dates back to the early th century. In the midst of sumptuous landscapes, it is suspended on a hill. We saw two or three monks during our arrival (at the end of April), but there would appear to be more in the summer. Happy to welcome the (rare) visitors of passage, they will open the doors of the lakhang (sanctuaries) and, if their English level allows them, answer your questions. Do not miss the blue frescoes illustrating the protective deities and those with the thousand Buddhas. More in height, the llama-lakhang and two empaillées goats suspended on the right of the entrance.
