When to go Tarn ?
Tarn's climate is characterized by a predominantly oceanic influence, with heavy rainfall in winter and spring, and prevailing westerly winds. Temperatures are relatively mild (the average annual temperature in Albi is 13°C), with record highs in summer due to the Mediterranean influence. This makes the department one of the hottest in the country! The east of the Tarn, influenced by the mountains, is more affected by rain and cold.
Several influences for the Tarn. To the north, oceanic influence, with winter and spring rains, westerly winds and mild temperatures (annual average 13 °C). To the east, a mountain influence with heavy rainfall, less sunshine and average temperatures of 9.5 °C. In the rest of the country, the Mediterranean influence results in dryness and high temperatures in summer, often the hottest in the country. In winter, the heavy rains cause the dreaded floods of the Tarn and Agout rivers.
