When to go Vendée ?
Winter is a good time to discover certain sites whose landscapes and colors are sublimated at this season, such as the Yon valley or Noirmoutier. The cold gives way to the spring revival, and with it the desire to move in the open air, in the marshes, in the Puy du Fou or the forest of Mervent. In the summer, we swim, surf and relax. In autumn, you can enjoy the mildness of the back season on the beaches or on the slopes. And even sledging on pine needles.
The climate is oceanic. In winter, the coast has some storms and is particularly dry. Rainfall is higher inland and the climate is a bit harsher. The snowfall rate is one of the lowest in France even if it sometimes freezes in La Roche-sur-Yon. It is on the relief of the north-east of Vendée that the winter is the harshest. In summer, the coasts are relatively cool and dry, with higher temperatures beyond 5 km.
