OBSERVATOIRE DU MONT COSMOS
This observatory is located about fifty kilometres south of Quebec City, very close to the small town of Saint-Elzéar. It has a 400 mm diameter telescope installed under the dome and accessible, in particular during public observation evenings organised several times a year. In winter and during the day, Mont Cosmos also organizes snowshoeing packages + visit of the observatory + observations of the Sun (depending on the weather conditions on site) really nice! The duration of the hike (less than 1h30) and its difficulty (some climbs are to be expected) make it accessible even to non-sportsmen. In this case, the meeting point is usually at the Community Centre, 707 rue Principale, in Saint-Elzéar, from 10:30 in the morning. As for the other proposed activities, such as public evenings, they are announced on the observatory's website, which is generally updated periodically.
