GOSSIDONGGUL CAVE
Go there and contact
This cave is one of the largest in the region; It is 6 km long, but only 1 km away. It's cold in every season, so think about covering yourself. Dress up your dirty clothes, because the ground is very slippery, and you almost have to crawl in some places. Stop claustrophobes. It is a succession of galleries, waterfalls and stalactites and stalagmites shapes that have earned them poetic names, as in all caves of this kind. There are lakes, but we don't see them. Visit only if you are a geologist or on the road.
It is said that in 1592 the villagers found refuge in this cave during Japanese invasions. The Japanese allumèrent a great fire at the entrance and the locals all, except the Go family who had fled further, hence the name of this "Mister Go" cave. The bus to Festival from Taebaek passes through this road and the cave (departure at 8 am). They also pass through Yeongwol.
