Launched in 2009, the automatic metro offers 90 km of network. Clean, it runs every 4 minutes during rush hour and every 7 minutes during off-peak hours. 3 comfort categories: Silver (economy), Gold (first class) and Women & Children. The green line is mainly underground and connects the old quarters of Dubai. The red line is mainly aerial and runs along Sheikh Zayed Road from Deira to Jebel Ali. The "Route 2020" extension, 14.5 km long and with 6 additional stations, was created to access the Expo 2020 site.

Opening time and information on DUBAI METRO

The metro opens from Saturday to Wednesday from 5am to 1:15am. Thursday from 5am to 2:15am and Fridays and Saturdays from 5am to 2:15am. On Sundays the metro is open from 8am to 1.15am the following day It is essential to have a NOL card which can be purchased at all metro stations and at some bus stations. The card is valid for all public transportation except for the Monorail. Several cards are available. If you are a tourist, or only use public transport occasionally, this is the red paper card for a maximum of 5 day passes or 10 trips. If you are staying for more than a week and use public transport a lot, it is the Silver card and if you prefer to travel in 1st class then you can use either the Red or Gold card There is a day pass of AED 20 or AED 40 for 1st class, but you have to specify it when you buy it. Otherwise, the prices of the trips depend on the distance, the number of zones crossed and the color of your card. Red: AED 4 for 1 zone and AED 8.5 for 2 or more zones. For 1st class: 8 AED for 1 zone and 17 AED for more than 2 zones. The fare is calculated at the end of the trip, so you have to show your NOL card to enter and exit the metro. Please note that only one suitcase per person is allowed on board. The metro is equipped with wifi. It is forbidden to eat, drink or sleep in the metro. Impeccable

Très propre, climatisé, spacieux et du wifi. La ligne aérienne offre de belles vues sur Dubaï.
La rame réservée aux femmes et enfants s'arrête toujours près de la sortie lors de l'arrivée à destination.
Attention, l'heure du dernier métro est celle de l'arrivée en bout de ligne donc si vous êtes loin prévoyez de partir bien en avance, ne soyez pas surpris si certaines stations ferment tôt.
