Less picturesque since it got a permanent building instead of the old container where the kitchen was located, Bu Qtair is still one of the most popular restaurants in the city: the choice of dishes is limited to marinated grouper or breaded shrimps with spices that are eaten on paper plates. For more than 20 years, Haroon Rasheed and his family from Kerala have been delighting the whole of Dubai, from fishermen to tourists and expatriates, with their products from the day's catch

Dubai's best kept secret. Day's catch fresh fish and shrimp. Simple delicious food with no fanfare. Real value for money. Used to operate out of a trailer! Anthony Bourdain's favourite discovery when in Dubai, now a proper restaurant in the Fisherman's Village, but food still excellent.

Unique and old school place where you can pay only by cash (literally the only place where I used cash in Dubai).

About ~1kg of sea food costed just 120 AED including drinks. Very cheap.
