Since 1989, this golf tournament has seen the world's best players compete for the title. It was the first to host a PGA European Tour golf tournament in the Middle East. Contrary to what the name might suggest, this tournament takes place on a course called the Majlis in the heart of the Emirates Golf Club in the middle of the city, offering an exceptional view of the skyscrapers of the Marina. It was also the first golf course in the region.
