AL GAFFAL 60FT TRADITIONAL DHOW RACE

For this 50 nautical mile race, around 100 traditional dhows from the surrounding area gather to reach the Dubai coast from the uninhabited island of Sir Bu Na'air. The race commemorates the return of the pearl fishermen from long months at sea, and provides an opportunity for some fantastic photography. From the mainland, the coastline between Mina Seyahi and the Burj al-Arab is the best place to watch the race; the other way to get closer to the action is to board a ferry.
