The "obligatory" activity on pre-established tourist circuits: at best, we embark on a converted dhow, more usually on a modern boat disguised as a dhow, and dine alongside the water on a Lebanese-folkloric buffet, watching the distant lights of the shoreline go by. Weather permitting, and if our ship has the space, we climb to the open upper deck to smell the fragrances of the Gulf.
