Nestled in the middle of the gold souk, Bait al Banat, literally "the house of women", pays tribute to these women, to their social and family status, and to those who, far from being submissive or non-existent, have helped shape the country. On the first floor, the museum displays traditional costumes and masks, objects reflecting all aspects of daily life, a retrospective of women who have left their mark on the country, and a fine collection of photographs. Upstairs, an exhibition of Emirati artists. The center is also a cultural center.
