These huge traditional merchant ships offer an impressive spectacle. These days, they are built with basic tools (hammers, burin, saw, drill…). Manual work predominates, while respecting tradition: The boards are curved and then adjusted above the other, before the internal structure of the vessel is shaped inside (the opposite in the West, the frame always before the shell!). Teak remains the most used wood because of its legendary robustness.

Le dhow est un bateau, voilier, typique arabe, du type Sinbad le Marin.
Dans la partie Nord-Est de Dubai se trouve la Dubai Creek et ses fameux dhows.
L'occasion de voir un autre Dubai.
L'occasion de rencontrer de nombreux Indiens et Pakistanais au travail, à décharger les cargaisons.
Pas loin se trouvent aussi les principaux musées de la ville (avec le Heritage Village), le Gold Market, etc.
PS : Vous pouvez aussi vous offrir une soirée avec dîner à bord d'un dhow
