When to go Var ?
The advantage of the Var is that you can go there in any season, even in the middle of winter. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, the weather is always good and the sun is usually out. If you can, prefer spring and autumn to summer when the tourist numbers are high. Throughout the year -and not only in summer- you can attend events and festivals in all fields (cultural, gastronomic and sports...). There is something for everyone!
The climate is Mediterranean in the Var. Winters are mild and sunny with temperatures averaging 15°C and moderate rainfall with occasional snow in the mountains. However, in the summer, the heat can be scorching in the Var, with temperatures reaching 35°C on the coast in August during the high tourist season. In spring, nature is in bloom and the weather is pleasant. In autumn, the weather is mild and the landscapes are colorful. These low season periods are therefore very popular.
